Fall Fashion Down Under Starts at LMFF
Held annually in March, The L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival showcases Australia’s hottest autumn and winter collections. It’s the largest consumer fashion event in Australia–over 300,000 people attend annually-and it’s a great chance for fashion models and fashion designers to showcase their talent. The internationally renowned festival is open to the public, giving ordinary people a unique chance to experience the fashion world and to learn about new and up-coming styles and trends.
The festival produces superior runway shows and strives to provide the highest quality stylists, hair and makeup artists, and stage production. For a fashion designer, this level of service relieves a little bit of the pressure of putting on a fantastic runway show. For a fashion model, the LMFF is a dream. Runway models have all the support they need to strut their stuff in high style, and get a ton of exposure. A gig at the LMFF can really kick-start a modeling career.
Going to the LMFF as a spectator can be a quick and easy education in fashion. If you are interested in a fashion career, try volunteering. Whether you are looking to break into the fashion industry as a stylist, makeup or hair artist, producer, fashion designer or model, volunteering at the LMFF is a fantastic way to learn the ropes and make connections with the arbiters of style. No experience is required. Just contact the volunteer coordinator at lmff.com, but do it soon. Volunteers for 2009 are asked to apply in early October.
